A reminder that the Electronic Prescribing Service has recently been launched. This means that in most cases, rather than being given a paper prescription to take to the pharmacy, a request will go there electronically. You should still allow 48 hours for your prescription to be ready after requesting it. If you are unsure about what this might mean for you, please discuss it with the surgery or your local pharmacy.
If you are interested in influencing the way the practice runs and communicates with you, or if you have any feedback for us, we would be very pleased to hear from you. To take part, please leave your email address with reception or contact us directly on firstname.lastname@example.org – you will then be added to an email group and will periodically receive information (such as the results of surveys and inspections) and requests for feedback about the way we run.
When we have sought such feedback before we have found the results very useful and have made efforts to make changes to the practice as a result. Based on the feedback we have received this year we are running a trial of a new morning surgery system and are hoping to extend our online appointment booking system to include more appointments including nurse appointments. We welcome everybody but want the group to be as representative as possible and are particularly looking for people under the age of 35 to join.
As well as being able to book appointments and order repeat prescriptions online, you are now also able to look at a limited part of your medical record online. Initially this will include your medication, allergies and your vaccination history. Please discuss this with the reception team if you are interested.
A reminder that the G.Ps offer late surgeries on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (this may vary from week to week) from 6:30 onwards. These appointments are intended for those who would have difficulty attending earlier in the day due to, for example, work commitments.
A reminder that all non-NHS letters, forms and assessments that need to be completed by our staff will attract a charge as the work is not covered by our NHS contract. The standard charge for this is £10 although certain items (such as employment medical examinations) will be charged at a higher rate, based on the amount of work involved.
